Glow & Grow: Black Beauty, Haircare, and Skincare Tips

    Key takeaways
    • Baldie Con returns to Atlanta, offering space for dialogue, connection, and collective healing for those with hair loss.
    • Founded by Felicia Flores, the event blends cultural celebration, support network, and lifestyle expo—not a traditional medical conference.
    • Programming includes a fashion show, black-tie gala, workshops, panels, live performances, and curated shopping experiences.
    • The convention promotes visibility, practical guidance, and empowerment, especially for women of color affected by hair loss.

From fashion to health, hair has long held cultural and personal weight—especially for those navigating its absence. Baldie Con, an annual three-day gathering dedicated to individuals living with alopecia and other forms of hair loss, returns to Atlanta, Georgia, September 26–28, 2025, offering space for dialogue, connection, and collective healing.

Founded by alopecia warrior Felicia Flores, the event continues to expand its reach and relevance. Held at the JW Marriott in Buckhead, Baldie Con is not structured as a traditional medical conference or wellness retreat. Instead, it functions as a cross between a cultural celebration, a support network, and a lifestyle expo. The programming spans workshops, panel discussions, live performances, and curated shopping experiences—each centered on redefining what it means to live confidently without hair.

The 2025 edition will open with a fashion show on September 25, hosted by stylist and TV personality Derek J alongside educator and curator Courtney Hammonds. From there, the weekend includes a black-tie gala, a jazz brunch, interactive workshops, DJ sets, and resource-sharing opportunities. Guests will also hear from speakers and advocates across the spectrum of beauty, health, and identity, some of whom live publicly with alopecia, others who support loved ones through their journey.

For attendees, Baldie Con offers more than social programming—it creates visibility. While hair loss can often lead to isolation, especially for women of color disproportionately affected by autoimmune conditions, this event frames the experience through a lens of power, choice, and solidarity. It also offers practical guidance on navigating diagnosis, treatment, and lifestyle shifts, while elevating the voices of those often overlooked by mainstream beauty narratives.

Last year’s event sold out, drawing attendees from across the country. Organizers say they expect similar numbers in 2025, with an expanded footprint and more opportunities for connection.

Registration and event details are available at baldiecon.com.
