    History

MOBILE, Ala.-Savannah State wrapped their three-game weekend series with Spring Hill with a 7-4 loss on Sunday afternoon at Sims-Galle Field.

The loss drops the Tigers overall record below .500 (13-14) while they have a 10-8 SIAC record.

Spring Hill scored twice in the second inning before SSU tied the game in the top of the fourth.

The Tigers loaded the bases with Seth Stargell and Johan Sandoval hitting singles and Kidane Stephens drawing a walk. Kijani Clarington hit a single through the right side of the infield that scored Stargell and a wild pitch allowed Sandoval to cross home plate to tie the game at 2-2.

SHC responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth and scored another run in the fifth to take command with a 7-2 margin.

The Savannah State bats remained silent until the top of the ninth when Sandoval drew a walk and scored on a double down the right field line by Clarington. A single to center field by Jason Ramos allowed Clarington to score the final run of the game.

Clarington had two of the five SSU hits with a double and a single and drove in two runs while scoring once. Sandoval had one hit and scored twice while Stargell and Ramos had the other two hits.

Savannah State used six pitchers in the game.
