“This campaign is about visibility and truth,” said Gabrielle Brown, BWW’s Black Maternal and Infant Health Program Manager.
“Our work is rooted in love, empowerment, and advocacy. Black Maternal Health Week 2026 was a powerful reminder that when we center Black mamas and birthing people, we create space for healing, justice, and joy. Our efforts honor the resilience of our communities while demanding a healthcare system that listens, respects, and delivers the quality and dignified healthcare Black mothers deserve.”
Expanding on years of advocacy, this year’s campaign reinforces that awareness must extend beyond a single week. By placing these messages in public spaces, BWW is ensuring that conversations around Black maternal health remain visible, urgent, and impossible to ignore.
The billboards also serve as an invitation: to learn, to share, and to take action. Whether seen during a daily commute or sought out intentionally, each installation is a reminder that improving Black maternal health outcomes requires community-wide engagement and sustained commitment.
This campaign was made possible through continued partnership and support from Essential Access Health and In Our Own Voice, dedicated to advancing reproductive and maternal health equity.
