FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Los Angeles, CA / June 3, 2025) – Black Women for Wellness (BWW) is proud to announce its 26th Annual Reproductive Justice Conference, Minding Our Black Business: Reclaiming Rest, Resilience and Liberation, to be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at The California Endowment Center in Los Angeles, starting at 8:00 a.m. PT.

In a world that demands Black women to constantly push beyond their limits, this year’s Reproductive Justice Conference centers a powerful theme rooted in self-determination — a commitment to protecting our bodies, honoring our choices, and reclaiming our rest, unapologetically.

“Black women are not machines built to survive oppression. We are human beings with the right to rest, to joy, and to care,†says Janette Robinson Flint, Executive Director of Black Women for Wellness. “This year’s theme is a declaration rooted in the heart of the Reproductive Justice movement: the right to have children, not have children, and to parent in safe and sustainable environments. Reproductive Justice demands access and liberation. Minding Our Black Business is about reclaiming our time, our health, and our futures from systems that have long profited from our labor while ignoring our pain. This year we will reimagine what true justice looks like.â€

From the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the rise in reproductive cancers, to the persistent inequities in Black maternal health, Black women continue to face disproportionate risks. Today’s reproductive justice climate requires that we move with urgency and clarity. To mind our Black business is to resist systemic neglect, reclaim rest as our birthright, and demand justice in every aspect of reproductive care.

Conference participants will learn how to protect the reproductive health and overall well-being of Black women and girls from keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout sessions that highlight:

  • Maternal & Infant Health
  • Civic Engagement
  • Infertility & Fibroids
  • Beauty Justice
  • Environmental Justice
  • Grown and Sexy (menopause + sexual health for women over 40)
  • Men’s Track
  • Youth Track
  • Medical Track

We invite birth workers, healthcare professionals, youth leaders, elders, and community advocates to join this gathering space for dialogue, shared insights, restoration, and collective healing.

“Our 25th Annual Conference was a turning point — it sold out, garnered recognition from elected officials, and introduced our inaugural Beauty Justice track,†says Arnedra Jordan, Project Manager at Black Women for Wellness. “This conference has always been a space where Black women speak boldly about the reproductive justice issues that shape our lives, our families, and our futures. This year, with Minding Our Black Business, we’re going even deeper. It’s where we will heal, strategize, and lead critical conversations that others are just beginning to understand. That’s why this space matters.â€

Tickets for the 26th Annual Reproductive Justice Conference are now available. For additional information about the conference, including sponsorship and volunteer opportunities, please visit our website or email [email protected].
