Public Comment Period Open for Chatham County Hazard Mitigation Plan Draft
The Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) has released the draft Chatham County Hazard Mitigation Plan for public review and comment.
The Hazard Mitigation Plan serves as a roadmap for reducing the community’s vulnerability to natural and human-caused hazards. It identifies potential risks, such as hurricanes, flooding, and severe storms, and outlines long-term strategies to protect lives, property, and critical facilities throughout Chatham County.
Public input plays a vital role in shaping the final plan. CEMA invites residents, businesses, and community partners to review the draft and share their feedback.
The public comment period will remain open until 8:00 a.m. on November 10, 2025.
