City to Host Virtual Public Meeting on Floodplain Management Plan Aug. 18
SAVANNAH – The City of Savannah Development Services invites the public to review and offer feedback regarding its updated Floodplain Management Plan.
The plan evaluates the City’s flood hazards and vulnerability, assesses local capabilities to implement flood mitigation projects, and identifies a range of mitigation actions the City may pursue to reduce flood risk and protect people and property of Savannah. The plan also supports the City’s Community Rating System (CRS) participation, which provides discounts to local flood insurance policyholders’ premiums.
A final public meeting for this proposal takes place online Tuesday, August 18, at 5:30pm, via Microsoft Teams. Click the link here to join the meeting.
To review the plan prior to the virtual meeting, stakeholders and the public may visit the City’s flood information webpage. The public is encouraged to provide input on mitigation strategies the City may implement to protect against flood impacts.
