Eden Fresh Market Fayetteville to Close by Labor Day Weekend

Eden Fresh Market in Fayetteville is expected to close by Labor Day weekend, with the store now discounting remaining inventory as it prepares to shut its doors.

The grocery store announced the closure on its Facebook page, thanking customers for their support over the years.

“We are incredibly grateful for the loyalty, support, and kindness you’ve shown us over the years,” the announcement stated. “It has been our privilege to serve this community, and we’re honored to have been part of your family’s table.”

Chanell Jackson, assistant customer service manager at Eden Fresh Market, told The Citizen Monday that employees have been told the store will likely remain open through Labor Day weekend, although the exact closing date will depend in part on how quickly remaining inventory sells.

“They’re telling us by Labor Day weekend, so we’re just playing it by ear up until that weekend,” Jackson said.

The store began offering 20% off merchandise Monday. The discount is automatically applied when items are scanned, and all sales are final, Jackson said.

Eden Fresh Market is no longer receiving new shipments and will continue selling the inventory currently on its shelves. Jackson said perishable departments are already running low, while the store still has a larger amount of dry grocery inventory available.

The Fayetteville store will maintain its regular hours of 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily while it remains open at 12160 County Line Road.

No reason for the closure was provided in the company’s social media announcement.

Jackson has worked for Eden Fresh Market for two years and is also a Fayetteville resident. She said the loss will be personal as well as professional.

“I appreciate their business and their loyalty to our store,” Jackson said. “I’m definitely going to miss the store. I’m heartbroken, and it was convenient for a lot of people in this area, including me, because I stay close by. So it’s going to be missed for sure.”

Eden Fresh Market closed its announcement with a final message to customers: “Thank you for being part of our story.”
