Arsenal have signed Lionesses midfielder Georgia Stanway following her exit from Bayern Munich.
The 27-year-old’s contract at Bayern expired at the end of last season after spending four years at the German club.
Stanway previously spent seven years at Manchester City in the WSL, where she made 186 appearances for the club and scored 67 goals.
She now returns to the English top-flight and will look to add to her trophy tally, after helping City win one WSL title, three FA Cups and three League Cups.
After departing to join Bayern, she continued to thrive in Germany and won the Bundesliga title in each of her four seasons in Munich.
She also helped the club lift two German Cups and two German Super Cups, making 128 appearances in total and scoring 32 goals.
Stanway was an integral part of England’s midfield and has scored 33 goals in 93 appearances for the Lionesses, helping them lift the Women’s Euros in both 2022 and 2025.
Speaking in a statement confirming her arrival at the Emirates, Stanway said: “It’s an unbelievable feeling and I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal.
“This is a massive club that is driving the women’s game forward to new levels and I want to be a part of it.
“I want to win trophies and grow as a player, and this is the right place to do that with the backing of an incredible fanbase.”
Slegers: Stanway adds a new dimension to Arsenal’s midfield
