From Hollywood to Home: Black Voices in Entertainment

    Key takeaways
    • Host a Easter egg hunt, filling plastic eggs with treats and hiding them around the yard for kids to find.
    • Have a family baking session: make Easter-themed cookies with cutters, aprons, and math lessons through measuring ingredients.
    • Host a cozy movie marathon with family favorites like Hop, Zootopia, and It's the Easter Beagle.
    • Do volunteer projects: build baskets, decorate eggs, and deliver them to a local shelter or nursing home.

Easter is a wonderful time for families to come together and spend some quality time with each other. Whether you are celebrating the season with family or religious traditions, or indulging in the arrival of spring, here are a few fun things that you can add to your list to do with the kids for Easter.

    Easter egg hunt

There is nothing better than an Easter egg hunt! Parents can fill plastic eggs with small treats, hide them around the yard, and let the kids go out and search for them. It is an easy way to bring a little excitement to the day and keep everyone involved.

    Bake Easter cookies

Time in the kitchen is always a win when parents and kids cook together. Put on some aprons, get some Easter-themed cut outs and let the baking party begin. This is also a fantastic way to slip in a math lesson with measuring ingredients.

    Watch some Easter-themed movies

There are many Easter-themed movies out there that the entire family can enjoy. Some of them that have made our list include: Hop, Here Comes Peter Cottontail, It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, The Easter Bunny Is Comin’ to Town, Zootopia, among many others.

So, pop some popcorn, gather the family, and let the movie marathon begin. You may want to even invite some friends and neighbors over and make it an even bigger event.

    Easter brunch

Gather family and friends and have an Easter brunch. You can make sure that the kids feel like they are a part of the planning and put them in charge of decorations and maybe even let them come up with a signature dish for the meal. Sharing a meal together is one of the simplest ways to make the day feel special.

    Volunteer

Have the kids make Easter baskets, cards, decorate Easter eggs, etc. for those who are less fortunate and take them to a local shelter, nursing home, etc. and volunteer for a few hours. You can use this not only as a fun opportunity to spend time together, but you can also give back to the community and bring smiles to those who need it the most.

Parents remember that Easter is more than chocolate and candy. It is a time for families to connect through fun, creativity, and reflection. From our family to yours…Happy Easter!
