Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPS) Update:

    Key takeaways
    • Jenkins girls flag football advanced to the Division 2 GHSA State Championship Game.
    • Team secured wins in quarterfinals 34–0 and semifinals 27–7.
    • Players and head coach competed despite injury and illness, showing determination.
    • Historic first: Jenkins’ first girls team to reach a state final in any sport.
    • State final details: Monday, Dec. 15, 2025 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, kickoff 1:00 PM versus Greenbrier High School.

Please join us in congratulating our Jenkins girls flag football team and their incredible coaching staff — Coach Brooker, Coach Roberts, Coach Ballance, Coach Thompson, Coach Rhodes, and Coach F. Jackson — on advancing to the Division 2 GHSA State Championship Game!

The Warriors earned their spot with two dominant wins Monday night:

    • Quarterfinals: Jenkins 34 – Therrell 0
    • Semifinals: Jenkins 27 – Grovetown 7

What makes this achievement even more remarkable? Our head coach and several starters battled through injury and illness, yet they played with heart and determination. Despite facing opponents with large fan sections and full bands, our Warriors gave it everything — inspired by the loyal support of Principal Mr. Worrill, SCCPSS HR Executive Director Mr. Ray, Mrs. Rhodes, Mr. Younger and his son, Ms. Golder (Athletic Trainer), and others who made the trip.   This is the first girls team in Jenkins history to reach a state final in any sport — and they did it with grit, talent, and Warrior pride!

    Now, history awaits:
    📅 Monday, Dec. 15, 2025
    🏟 Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
    ⏰ Kickoff: 1:00 PM
    🏆 Opponent: Greenbrier High School
