Little did we know that morning that God would
call you name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went
with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are
always on our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
- Madlyn Preston, 77, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away on the evening of November 24, 2025.
- She is preceded in death by parents William Ferguson and Edna Bates, and brother Marshall "Butch" Wiley.
- Survived by son Charles E. Preston and granddaughter Taaliyah A. Preston.
- Also remembered by great-grandchildren Kailani Willis and Kylen Willis, brother Edward Bates, and many family and friends.

On the evening of November 24, 2025, God in his infinite wisdom called his daughter Madlyn Preston, 77 of Bluffton, SC from labor to reward.

Preston leaves a lifetime of memories to her son; Charles E, Preston. Her granddaughter; Taaliyah A. Preston, Great grandchildren; Kailani Willis, Kylen Willis, her brother; Edward Bates, and a host of other family and friends.
