Sunrise: May 10, 1977-Sunset: December 8, 2025

Dontell Sims was a beloved sibling, uncle, grand-uncle, and nephew. He was a kind, compassionate, and loving individual. Born on May 10, 1977, Dontell Sims had a deep sense of curiosity for trains. I believe that his favorite person in the whole world was Pop Brown who he enjoyed talking to about trains and other things.

Dontell Sims was that person who would never hurt a flea. He could be a little aggressive at times, but he was a sweetheart. When Dontell Sims lost his mother, Mario Sims, in 1996, he became the responsibility of his brother, Dr. Ahmad Sims. Then in 1998, Dontell Sims graduated from Robert W. Groves High School with his special education diploma.

In 1998, Dr. Ahmad Sims moved his brother, Dontell Sims and son, Ahmad Sims II to West Palm Beach, Florida. There, Dontell Sime became a bag boy at the grocery store Publix. He spent 10 years working at Publix and loved the work he did each and every day. In 2015, Dontell Sims retired from Publix.

Dontell Sims enjoyed watching sports. He was a football and basketball fan. He enjoyed playing his game system, and many of his games were sports related. He also enjoyed eating. He was a trash compactor that never gained weight from what he ate.

Above all, Dontell Sims leaves behind a legacy rooted in love. His life reminds us that kindness matters, and the way we treat others is the true measure of a life well lived. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Dontell Sims lives on in the memories we cherish and the love he gave so freely.

Dontell Sims is preceded in death by his loving mother, Mario Sims. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Ahmad Sims, his nephew and wife, Ahmad and Kaycee Sims, his grand-niece, Aubrey Sims, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will forever hold him in their hearts.

We honor Dontell Sims today with gratitude for his life and a legacy of unconditional love.

May Dontell Sims rest in eternal peace.
