The Early Childhood Care and Education program at Ogeechee Tech welcomed local preschoolers to campus for a festive parade to celebrate Independence Day.

Ogeechee Technical College’s Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) program recently welcomed local preschool students to campus for its inaugural Fourth of July Preschool Parade, creating a festive celebration of patriotism while strengthening connections with the community.

Children from local childcare centers Kidovations and Smiles, Giggles, and Hugs paraded through campus dressed in red, white and blue, waving American flags and sharing smiles with those gathered along the route.

Ogeechee Tech faculty, staff and students lined the parade path, cheering on the young participants and helping create a memorable experience for the children.

“This was such an amazing event. We had an incredible turnout from our OTC family, and the kids had such a blast touring campus and being cheered on as we celebrated the Fourth of July,” said Paula Clifton, director of Ogeechee Tech’s Early Childhood Care and Education program.

As the parade made its way across campus, the preschoolers were greeted by students, faculty and staff who handed out small giveaways and treats while offering plenty of high-fives and encouragement. The event not only celebrated the holiday but also introduced the children to the college in a fun, welcoming environment.

Following the success of the inaugural parade, the ECCE program plans to expand the tradition by hosting additional seasonal parades throughout the year. Organizers hope the events will continue to raise awareness of the program, strengthen community partnerships and bring excitement and energy to campus.
