Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPS) Update:

Key takeaways
  • Windsor Forest High School funded by ESPLOST IV with a $92 million build, designed to serve 1,000 students.
  • Campus features 32 classrooms, 8 science labs, 10 CTAE labs, pre-K suite, computer science, SPED, art studios, learning commons.
  • Includes auditorium, band and choral halls, JROTC wing, dining and athletic upgrades; designed by Hussey Gay Bell, built by JE Dunn Construction.

Rainy weather did not dampen the spirits of those gathered inside the new Windsor Forest High School on Friday, August 8, 2025.  School and District staff, School Board Members, current and former students, along with members of the community had come together to celebrate the opening of the long-awaited new building with a ribbon cutting.

The new Windsor Forest High School, funded by ESPLOST IV at a cost of $92 million, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve 1,000 students. Some in attendance traveled from out of town to be there for the event.  Nearly everyone wore a shade of the Knight’s green school color.  That color is also showcased throughout the campus which features 32 classrooms, 8 science labs, 10 CTAE labs, a pre-K suite, computer science and SPED classrooms, art studios, and a learning commons.

Due to the weather, the ribbon cutting was held inside the school’s auditorium – the first true auditorium ever built for Windsor Forest High.  The building also includes a band and choral hall, JROTC wing, and modern dining facilities. Athletic upgrades include a football field, track, baseball complex, and improvements in the gym. The project was designed by Hussey Gay Bell and built by JE Dunn Construction.
