Porsha Williams and Patrice “Sway” McKinney are giving fans another look at a relationship that has continued to blossom in public.

The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and her girlfriend are celebrating a major milestone in their romance, with a new Instagram reel highlighting the couple’s time together and describing them as marking one year as a pair.

It is the latest glimpse into a love story Williams has increasingly allowed fans to see after spending much of the past two years navigating a very public divorce and figuring out what she wanted from her next chapter.

Williams, 45, made her relationship with McKinney Instagram official in November 2025 with a birthday post featuring affectionate photos and video of the two together. At the time, theGrio reported that the reveal followed months of hints from Williams that she was dating again and was open to connecting with both men and women.

But their history goes back much further.

Williams previously explained that she and McKinney first connected on Instagram years ago before eventually losing touch. The two later crossed paths again online without Williams initially realizing McKinney was the same woman she had interacted with years earlier.

From there, the connection moved from social media into real life.

“I’m just doing what feels natural,” Williams said in a December interview. She added that she was “really happy” and that her family had been supportive of the relationship.

That openness has been significant for Williams, whose romantic life has played out in front of reality television cameras for more than a decade.

Her relationship with McKinney is her first public relationship with a woman. Williams previously said that she made a conscious decision not to conceal that part of her life simply because the relationship looked different from those viewers had seen before.

“I didn’t want to hide any parts of me,” she said. “I felt if I did hide it and it had to be caught somewhere, it just wouldn’t feel authentic.”

The relationship came after Williams finalized her divorce from Simon Guobadia in June 2025. She filed for divorce in February 2024, roughly 15 months after the couple married.

Since then, Williams has spoken openly about slowing down and approaching dating differently. During Season 17 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” viewers watched her navigate dating after divorce, including connections with McKinney and Michael “Mike Bless” Anthony.

By the season finale, however, Williams had stepped back from her relationship with Anthony and was becoming more serious with McKinney. An update shown during the Aug. 2 finale said the pair were still going strong, taking family vacations and enjoying their relationship.

The two have also shared some of those moments off camera. Williams documented a Bahamas getaway with McKinney this summer and attended the 2026 BET Awards with her girlfriend.

One thing they have not done is get engaged, despite the internet trying to write that chapter for them.

In February, Williams and McKinney shut down engagement speculation after an AI-generated image circulated online appearing to show the couple with an engagement ring. McKinney made it clear that there had been no proposal, while Williams amplified her response.

For now, the couple appears content to celebrate what they have built without rushing to define what comes next.

Williams has said that pacing is intentional for her, particularly after a history of moving quickly in relationships.

“We are definitely still dating, and I don’t want to put too much pressure on it,” she previously said. “You know, I move really fast. The next time you see me, I might be engaged. So if I’m doing it slower, let me do it a little slow.”

Months later, Williams and McKinney seem to be doing exactly that, enjoying the relationship one milestone at a time.
