Glow & Grow: Black Beauty, Haircare, and Skincare Tips

Key takeaways
  • Prevent chafing by avoiding tight clothing around the inner thighs.
  • Use BGLH whipped shea butter as a lubricant on prone spots.
  • Wash dark areas with BGLH African black soap to fade hyperpigmentation.

When I was little I used to laugh at the sound my mom’s thighs made when she walked down the aisles at church. It sounded like rubbing dry hands together, lol.

Fast forward to adulting! The same thing happened to me 😩. When I’m bloated my thighs rub together! It’s so annoying and irritates my inner thigh skin.

I’m a runner and I would especially get inner thigh bumps after a run. The official term for this is “chafing†and it causes darkening and blemishes of the inner thighs.

When I started noticing it I was like “Awww heck naw!†I need to be fine whether I’m wearing shorts or not, lol. So I sought out a remedy.

On a whim I started treating my inner thighs with BGLH whipped butter in July 2020. I remember this because I had gained wieght during quarantine and was up to 225 lbs.  I started running 4 to 10 miles a day on a local track to start working it off.

I would rub Rose Blended Butter on the areas of my inner thigh that were more prone to chafing. This started healing my skin, and my thighs were gliding passed one another instead of scraping lol.

In 2021 I started using BGLH African black soap and this helped even more to fade my dark inner thighs.

Suddenly walking, running, dancing and skipping never looked or felt so good! I wore shorts above my knees in 2021 and had no embarrassing dark spots. I was free!

So here are my tips to prevent chafing;

1. Don’t wear clothes that are too tight!

2. Use BGLH whipped shea butter as a lubricant on spots that are prone to chafing.

3. Wear biker shorts or spanks under short shorts, jeans and pants.

4. Wash dark areas of the inner thigh with BGLH African black soap.

What are your tips for dealing with inner thigh chafing and hyperpigmentation?
