    Savannah Residents Invited to Register, Participate in District 3 Share Your Story Week Event 

    SAVANNAH – The City of Savannah’s Office of Municipal Archives & History invites residents to register for and participate in the 2026 District 3: Share Your Story Week, taking place at the Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center (PARC) August 10 -15, 2026. 

    Municipal Archives will host a series of free events, including a history lecture, an oral history training session, a “StoryRoots: Mapping Savannah’s History” info session, and two days for District 3 residents to share their memories. Registration is required for select events. 

    The week-long event is dedicated to celebrating, collecting, and preserving the unique stories, photos, and memories that contribute to making Savannah’s third district an important part of the City’s history. In addition to being part of the ongoing Savannah Community Memory Project Initiative, this opportunity supports objectives outlined in Goal 2 of the Savannah GPS Strategic Plan: Community Development and Resiliency.   

    Registration is required for the history lecture and oral history training. Additionally, registration is recommended for anyone interested in the Drop-In Memory Collecting Days.  

    A list of events along with sign-up is available online here. If residents know a great candidate to share memories or who may not be able to personally attend the events, please email Archives@Savannahga.Gov to schedule a date and time to record stories for this initiative.
