Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration

    Key takeaways
    • Pack a comfortable, button-up pajama or loungewear for easy post-birth changes and breastfeeding.
    • Hospital supplies cover basics, but bring your own nipple butter, and favorites like Tucks and Dermoplast.
    • Keep toiletries minimal: gentle cleanser, moisturizer, body wash, lotion, so you can snuggle baby instead of a long routine.
    • Bring favorite snacks and a reusable water cup, hospitals lack healthy options and you’ll want treats in your room.

I cannot believe we’re about to welcome baby girl number three!! One thing that’s funny to me is how much smaller my hospital bag has gotten with each baby. When I was pregnant with Kennedy, I packed EVERYTHING. By baby number three, you realize you really don’t need nearly as much as you think you do.

These days, I focus on packing the things I know I’ll actually use and the little comforts that make those first couple days in the hospital easier. So here’s exactly what’s coming with me this time around!

    My Bag

    Clothes & Shoes

I love changing into my own clothes post-birth and a button up style pajama or loungewear is an essential!

    Postpartum Items

The hospital gives you ALL the postpartum items you need, so you really don’t need to bring much. I usually leave with an entire bag full of goodies including disposable undies, pads, Tucks pad liners (LOVE these), Dermoplast spray, etc. I would definitely bring nipple butter because your nipples will be really sore at first (mine bled).

    Toiletries

I keep my toiletries very basic post-birth. I love having my own skincare, body wash, lotion, etc., but I’m not about to do a 5 step skincare routine. I just want to be in bed snuggling my new baby haha!

    Miscellaneous Items

My biggest advice is bring your own snacks and water cup!!! The snacks at the hospital aren’t always the healthiest options and since we’re stuck in the room for awhile, it’s always nice to have snacks you love right in your room.

    Baby’s Bag

To be honest, for the entire hospital visit, my girls are usually dressed in a diaper and swaddled in hospital blankets. We are constantly unswaddling them to do skin-to-skin or breastfeed, and then swaddling them back up. Babies will sometimes spit up a lot, so using the hospital blankets is nice because they always have a fresh one ready to go. It isn’t until our last day in the hospital that I really use the outfit/accessories I bring for them.

I’d love to hear from you mamas what you actually used in your hospital bag, and if there’s anything important I’m forgetting!!
