Did you catch the 2025 American Music Awards? Well, whether you were busy eating some delicious BBQ, enjoying friends and family; or simply forgot… WE GOT YOU. We have compiled together all the big moments of the show and all the awards that your faves won into one brief summary. Let’s go.

First of all, one main aspect in any awards ceremony is who hosted it? And what did they do to open the festivities? Well, this year the honor fell upon and was bestowed on Jennifer Lopez. And Jenny did her signature, DANCE.

Yes, JLO danced to a medley of hit songs and singles. One being a crowd favorite by Kendrick Lamar, Not Like Us. By the way, later in the show this song would win the AMA award for Favorite Hip-Hop Song.

While Taylor Swift did not win any awards (we know, we were all stunned as well). One of her contemporaries had a rather huge night. Songstress Billy Eilish won all 7 of her nominations at the AMAs for:

    • Artist of the Year
    • Album of the Year
    • Song of the Year
    • Favorite Touring Artist
    • Favorite Female Pop Artist
    • Favorite Pop Album
    • Favorite Pop Song

Impressive. Some other winners of the night, included Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars winning Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Music Video for Die With a Smile. Doechii won for Social Song of the Year (Anxiety). SZA wins Favorite Female R&B Artist, Becky G nabbed Favorite Latin Female Artist; while Gracie Adams is this year’s New Artist of the Year.

Another great moment of the night was a performance by the iconic Janet Jackson. Her first televised performance in 7 years. She hit the audience with an energetic medley of her songs such as All For You and Someone to Call My Lover. And of course, she received the AMAs Icon Award. Some other OG’s were also awarded. Eminem won for Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album; Twenty One Pilots wins Favorite Rock Artist/and Album; while Ron Stewart received the Lifetime Achievement Award and Gloria Estefan hit the stage as well.

Lastly, of course, more awards for your faves like Beyoncé, Tyla, The Weeknd and Bruno Mars. Mars won Favorite Male Pop Artist, Tyla wins Favorite Afrobeats Artist and Shakira wins Favorite Latin Song. Queen Bey won Favorite Female Country Artist/ and Album, Megan Thee Stallion nabbed Favorite Female Hip Hop Artist and RM is named Favorite K-Pop Artist. Lastly, Bad Bunny and The Weeknd both had multiple wins in the Latin and R&B categories; while Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen took home Favorite Country Song.
