5 Fall Trends You’ll See Everywhere in 2026

Fall fashion might be my favorite fashion of the entire year, and after spending the past few weeks looking at new arrivals and putting together outfits, I am SO excited about the trends we’re seeing for 2026! Some feel like updated versions of pieces we already know and love, while others are a little more unexpected and such a fun way to make your wardrobe feel new again.

The best part is that you definitely don’t need an entirely new closet to wear them. A lot of these trends can be incorporated with one really good accessory, a fun shoe, or a new way of styling pieces you probably already own. Below I’m breaking down five of the fall fashion trends I’m most excited to wear this year, along with some of my favorite pieces to shop and ideas for how I’d style each one.

And because I couldn’t narrow it down to just five, I’m also sharing a few more trends I’m keeping my eye on for the season!

I am LOVING lace for fall, especially because there are so many different ways to wear it! I’m drawn to everything from the more dramatic lace pieces, like a full lace jacket or dress, to the really subtle details, like a scarf trimmed in lace or a little lace cami peeking out underneath a sweater. I love how even the smallest touch of lace can add something feminine and unexpected to an outfit, especially when it’s paired with heavier fall fabrics like denim, suede, or a chunky sweater.

Animal print is everywhere again this fall, but we’re seeing SO much more than the traditional leopard print! Leopard is still going strong, but zebra and other animal prints are showing up on belts, bags, shoes, skirts, and even little details like collars. I personally love treating animal print almost like a neutral. Adding a leopard bag or zebra belt to an otherwise simple outfit instantly makes it feel more stylish. If you’re ready to fully embrace the trend, I LOVE a statement leopard skirt or jacket!

Statement accessories are having a MAJOR moment, and this might be the easiest trend to wear because it’s such an easy way to update pieces you already own. Think oversized sunglasses, chunky cuffs and rings, bold earrings, belts with interesting hardware, scarves, and bags that really make the outfit. I’m especially loving all of the sculptural gold jewelry we’re seeing right now! You can wear the simplest outfit like jeans and a sweater or even a basic tee and add one or two statement accessories to make the entire look feel more exciting and trendy.

Sneaker mules are EVERYWHERE right now, and I have a feeling we’re only going to see more of them this fall! I love that they have the look of a sneaker but the open back makes them a little different (and SO easy to slip on and go). They’re also the perfect shoe to start wearing now and transition into fall. I love them with shorts while it’s still warm, but I think they’re going to look even cuter with jeans once the weather cools down. There are so many good versions right now, from sporty styles to suede, crochet, and even leopard!

If I had to pick two colors that are going to be EVERYWHERE this fall, it would be olive green and chocolate brown! Chocolate brown was super popular last year, too, but I’m already seeing both of them on everything from jackets and jeans to shoes, handbags, and accessories. I especially love the two colors worn together. They feel so perfect for fall but are still really easy to mix with pieces you already have in your closet. I’m definitely planning to add more of both to my wardrobe this season!

A Few More Trends I’m Loving

Updated Barn Jackets
Barn jackets are back again this fall, but I’m loving the updated versions! Instead of just the traditional solid canvas jacket, I’m seeing them in fun prints, unexpected fabrics, and with cute details that make them feel a little more special. I still love a classic barn jacket, but these newer versions are such a fun twist!

Rugby Shirts
Rugby shirts are having a major moment, and I LOVE the preppy feel! I’m seeing lots of stripes, oversized fits, and fun color combinations. They’re also so easy to wear… throw one on with jeans and sneakers or layer it over a button-down once it gets cooler. This is one of my favorite looks I’ve worn lately!

Capris
Okay, hear me out… capris are officially back! I wasn’t sure how I felt about this one at first, but I’ve seen SO many cute outfits lately that are changing my mind. I especially love them styled with a more fitted top and a great pair of flats or kitten heels. It feels very chic and totally different from the capris we wore years ago.

Tartan Plaid
Plaid will always be a fall staple, but I’m seeing a lot of tartan plaid specifically this year! I love the traditional, slightly preppy feel of it, especially on skirts, jackets, and accessories. This is one of those trends that feels very “fall” but is also something you can pull back out year after year.

Oversized Sunglasses
After years of smaller sunglasses being everywhere, BIG sunglasses are officially making their way back and I am here for it! I’m seeing oversized frames in all different shapes, from big aviators to more rounded styles. Sunglasses are one of my favorite ways to change up an outfit, so I’m excited to play around with some bigger frames this fall.

I definitely don’t think you need to buy into every trend each season, but I love finding a few that feel like me and mixing them in with pieces I already own. Sometimes a new pair of shoes, a fun accessory, or even just adding a little lace or animal print is all it takes to make your closet feel exciting again!
