Flau’Jae Johnson continues to shine in her first WNBA season. The former LSU women’s basketball star recorded a franchise statistical accomplishment for the Seattle Storm. She became the first rookie in franchise history to score 500 points and make 50 3-pointers in a single season.
Johnson did so by hitting a trio of 3-pointers during a 25-point game against the Las Vegas Aces on Sept. 17. She shot 60% from the field while adding three rebounds and two assists. She has started all 39 games for the Storm, averaging 14.3 points per game on 40% shooting.
Johnson’s All-Rookie team campaign looks bright. Her points per game, 559 total points, 51 total steals, and 28 total blocks all rank second among 2026 rookies. Former Notre Dame guard and current Minnesota Lynx guard Olivia Miles is the front-runner for that award.
The Golden State Valkyries selected Johnson with the No. 8 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, but they traded her to the Storm later in the draft. She played four seasons at LSU under coach Kim Mulkey.
