Anchors away, aboard The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection!

Last week, I escaped NYC’s temperamental weather for a 5 sunny days and nights sailing The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection‘s Ilma. I’ve actually never been cruise or any sailing trip of the like before, so I feel like I’ve already been spoiled by starting strong with such a luxury yacht experience 😅 looking out over miles and miles of blue ocean was so therapeutic, and I honestly cannot believe I’ve never thought to spend so much time out on the water before!

We embarked in Ft Lauderdale, sailed down to the Bahamas, making three stops along the way before looping back to Florida to complete our trip in under a week. It was such a relaxing getaway, and getting to see the Bahamas for the first time was really cool as well. We spent one of our stops at having lunch on the beach, another stop walking through Nassau, and the third one doing a seaplane tour over the Bahamian islands… such an incredible experience.

Check out some of the video recaps that I posted about the trip : everything we ate on board, and an overall recap of my Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection experience!

One of the best things about The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is the amenities — every room is a suite, and every suite has a terrace! We felt right at home with more than enough space for two — where we were able to rest, work and just live without feeling like we were in cramped quarters. I think that’s such an important part of having a pleasant experience while sailing at sea, nobody wants be stuck in a shoebox with nothing but miles and miles of ocean around them, as far as the eye can see!

Ilma (the Ritz-Carlton yacht we took our voyage on) has a 448 guest capacity with is FAR smaller than most other cruise ships that you may be familiar with, and this was a very good thing : service was extremely warm, personal and timely — and there was always enough space to engage in whatever activity we wanted to do, without a wait or overcrowding. From dining, to poolside lounging to booking spa appointments… service aboard the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection was always executed to perfection.
