The Institute is commemorating its 50 th anniversary this year. Launched in 1976, the publication was developed to keep participants notified regarding IEEE and what its components were doing, as well as to report on the organization’s initiatives, technical criteria , items, and services.
That regulation expanded over the years to include our reporting on essential historical technical success recognized as IEEE Milestones and support for young specialists with career-guidance posts and information regarding educational resources
The Institute has experienced lots of iterations in the past 50 years. What started as a month-to-month four-page insert in the print edition of IEEE Range ended up being a separate paper released six times a year and mailed along with Range in 1977, and afterwards a monthly publication the following year.
Today we release all of The Institute ‘s posts online, with a curated option appearing in our 16 -page quarterly published in the March, June, September, and December Range problems.
To provide members with a fast summary of the most up to date online news, in 2003 a bimonthly newsletter, The Institute Alert , began appearing in your inbox. You also can stay up to date by following our Facebook , Instagram , and LinkedIn web pages.
Although much has transformed, an original subsection from 1976–“IEEE Individuals”– has actually been kept for the past 5 years. We continue to celebrate IEEE members from worldwide with our profiles, which are amongst our most preferred write-ups.
As the longest-serving editorial director for The Institute , it is an opportunity for me and my staff to chronicle the stories of amazing IEEE individuals. They are often-unseen dreamers and problem-solvers who function tirelessly behind the scenes on innovations that are improving the globe. By highlighting their jobs and just how IEEE has played a role in their professional development, we wish to motivate the next generation of designers and technologists to proceed a legacy of advancement and service to humankind.
