JACKSONVILLE – Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland urges voters to update their voter registration when issued a new Florida driver license number or Florida ID card number by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Beginning on July 31, 2024, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles began implementing legislation that requires the distinguishing numbers assigned to a driver license or identification card to include at least four randomly generated numbers. This change was part of a new law designed to enhance security and prevent identity theft.

With this change, voters who have obtained a new driver license must ensure that our office has the most current driver license number on file as it is one of the ways voters are verified for record updates, initiative petitions, and vote-by-mail ballot requests.

To update your voter registration record, visit duvalelections.gov or complete a voter registration application form and mail it to 105 E. Monroe St., Jacksonville, FL 32202.

Remember, it is important to routinely check and update your voter record whenever there is a change to your address, name, party affiliation, signature or driver license number.

If you have questions about the 2026 Primary or General Election, please visit our website at duvalelections.gov or call the Duval County Elections Office at 904-255-VOTE (8683).
