    City of Savannah: Official News, Events & Community Updates

    City of Savannah to Close Offices Friday, June 19, in Observance of Juneteenth

    SAVANNAH – City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday.

    Emergency services will remain operational, and residents may continue to submit non-emergency service requests through the SAV311 mobile app during the closure. Multiple City services will be affected by the holiday closure. Residents may expect the following schedule adjustments:

    Residential Garbage and Yard Waste Collection:

    Residential garbage and yard waste collection services will not take place on Friday, June 19. Regular collection services will resume Monday, June 22.

    Recycling Collection:

    Recycling services will continue normal operating schedule.

    Street Cleaning:

    Street cleaning operations will not take place Friday, June 19. Regular service resumes Monday, June 22.

    Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station

    The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will be closed Friday, June 19. Both facilities will reopen Saturday, June 20, during regularly scheduled operating hours.

    Residents are encouraged to consult the annual Sanitation schedule or visit the City of Savannah sanitation webpage for additional information regarding service schedules. Residents may also contact Sanitation Services at (912) 651-6579 for additional information.
