Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration

    Key takeaways
    • Cardi B becomes the first female rapper with four RIAA Diamond-certified songs in U.S. history.
    • WAP surpassed 10 million units and earned Diamond certification, marking the milestone that gave Cardi her fourth Diamond plaque.
    • WAP is the first collaboration between two female rappers to reach Diamond and marks Megan Thee Stallion's first Diamond certification.
    • Her Diamond-certified songs include I Like It, Girls Like You, and WAP, among others.

Diamonds on her wrist and diamonds on the charts. From the very beginning when she debuted back in 2017 with Bodak Yellow; this hip hop phenom has continued to make musical history. Today, is no different. Cardi B has now become the female rapper with the most Diamond certified songs in US history.

Yes, Cardi B has officially made the music industry legacy books as the first female rapper with four RIAA Diamond-certified songs in U.S. history. This milestone was reached after her 2020 smash hit “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion surpassed 10 million units sold. Thus, marking this never been seen before historic achievement.

Megan Thee Stallion’s and Cardi’s collab came out six years ago. So this means for a little over half a decade this single has still be steadily selling. The sign of a truly big time song.

Nonetheless, it may have been “WAP” that pushed Cardi B up and over to get the record. But that is only one song. What are the other three RIAA Diamond-certified songs?

    Cardi B’s Diamond Record Collection

    • I Like It (2018, with Bad Bunny and J Balvin)
    • Girls Like You (2018, with Maroon 5)
    • WAP (2020, featuring Megan Thee Stallion)

Besides for diamond songs, there’s some more history that has been made for Cardi and Megan. On Monday (August 3), “WAP,” Bardi’s 2020 smash collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, was officially certified diamond after the song surpassed 10 million units sold in the U.S. The achievement gives the Bronx superstar her fourth diamond plaque, the most of any female rapper, while “WAP” also becomes the first collaboration between two female rappers to reach the milestone. It also marks the first diamond certification of Megan’s career.

So then, congratulations to Meg as well! She now officially joins the RIAA Diamond-certified club. A huge accomplishment in any artist’s career.

Nonetheless, both Cardi B and Megan have reacted to the news. Cardi addressed her Bardi gang on X stating, “Me and Megan really did that!! Love y’all so much… thank you for streaming and making history with us.” Meg shared Cardi’s post and added, “WOWW omg diamond sisterrr thank you for having me.” Congrats ladies!
