Here are some fun fall festivals and events in and around Savannah, along with what to expect.
Oktoberfest
Savannah Oktoberfest is a festival that takes place on the riverfront, turning the Plant Riverside District into a Bavarian-style beer garden every autumn. The 2026 event will happen from October 3 to October 11, and most activities will be on two weekends: October 3-4 and October 10-11. These events take place along the Riverwalk and MLK Park, which are part of the West River Street waterfront in Savannah.
- The main highlights of the 2026 festival include free games and activities throughout the event, with a special event called the Wiener Dog Races happening on Saturday, October 10 at 11 a.m.

Other fun games and competitions, like Pretzel Fishing, Strudel Stroll, Keg Bowling, and Stein Holding, will be available over the two weekends on the Riverwalk. - The main event is the Wiener Dog Races at MLK Park on Saturday, October 10 at 11 a.m. It’s a family favorite that draws a big crowd, so arriving early is a good idea to get a good view. Because the timing of the games can change each day slightly, you can check the daily schedule on-site or call ahead if you’re planning around a specific activity.
- The festival itself is free to attend, with games and general activities on the Riverwalk being free. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, with options like bratwurst, pretzels, and strudel, along with seasonal beer.You can bring cash or a card for food, and there’s no cover charge for walking around or watching the games.
- The Plant Riverside District has a big parking garage on site, and it gets filled up quickly on festival weekends compared to regular evenings — arrive earlier than usual for a normal River Street visit, especially if you’re near the 11 a.m.

Tybee Island Pirate Festival

October 8:
Buccaneer Ball at The Crab Shack from 6 PM – 10 PM.
- Callin’ all Pirates and Wenches to The Crab Shack’s 19th Buccaneer Ball. Grog served all evening; Grub aplenty presented 6:30 till 8:30 PM. Pirate King and Queen will be sashed at 7:30 to reign over the Ball and the entire Pirate Fest Weekend. Ages 18 and up. This is a rain or shine event and there are no refunds.
October 9
Kick off your Pirate Fest weekend with the 2026 Cape Fear Rum Pirate Pub Crawl.

SAVANNAH GREEK FESTIVAL
OCTOBER 8 – 10, 11 AM to 9 PM
One of Savannah’s most loved annual events. With 75 years of tradition and plenty of happy memories, this event is a favorite every year. This year‘s festival will have homemade Greek foods, Greek desserts, Greek dancing, Greek music, church tours, a marketplace, and more during the three-day celebration of Greek food, music, and heritage. The event is hosted by St Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church at the Hellenic Center at 14 West Anderson Street and draws thousands of visitors each year. Visitors get to enjoy the delicious and rich Greek culture through food and treats. Admission is free for all three days of the festival this year! Enjoy traditional Greek menu items like Pastisio, Spanakopita, Dolmades, and Souvlaki. Pastries such as baklava, koulourakia, and our famous Greek coffee are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

BLUES, BREWS, BBQ, & BOURBON
October 10th, from noon-4 p.m. at the Park at Eastern Wharf. Check out their festival-style tent with plenty of beverage vendors to try. Each one offers unlimited samples of their drinks, like craft beer, whiskey, and maybe a few other types of alcohol. Live music will be played by three local bands on a stage right in the middle of the event. For food, they’ve brought in several top Texas-style BBQ chefs from different nearby states just for this event. They’ll be cooking using traditional offset smokers, and their BBQ is some of the best in the Southeast. For more details, visit the website.
Wag-O-Ween

Davenport House Museum Fall Arts Festival
November 7, 10:00 AM. The Davenport House Museum is excited to host our yearly Fall Arts Festival, which celebrates in Savannah. This free, family-friendly festival will gather artists, craftspeople, musicians, and local residents across the Historic Savannah Foundation’s
Highlights of the festival will include a market where artists and craftspeople showcase their work, >fun art projects led by local creators, and a group art activity where people of all ages help make a shared piece of art.
