Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration
- Standout design: royal blue hue, funnel neck, curved sleeves; functional button front yet wide cut eases dressing.
- Cinchable silhouette: drawstring waist creates a cropped, flattering fit preferred over boxy, oversized shapes.
- Versatile styling: wear sporty with jeans and sneakers at a New York Liberty game or pair with a La Ligne skirt.
- Texture tricks: add snakeskin Aeyde slingbacks or leather pencil skirts; many colors available despite some pieces like Zara selling out.

Another pretty trendy look for me, no? What can I say, I was feeling inspired during New York Fashion Week! I’m having so much fun getting more experimental and playful with my style in the city!
Windbreakers are really having a moment right now and there are quite a lot to choose from! The royal blue hue on this one is what caught my eye initially, but the funnel neck and curved sleeves were details I couldn’t resist. And the $70 price tag? Say less! I love the button-front look, but will admit I was annoyed to discover they’re functional as opposed to having a hidden zippered closure. I thought that might be frustrating when getting dressed, but the jacket is so wide cut it’s easy to pull over your head without unbuttoning every button! There’s also a drawstring at the waist, allowing for a flattering cinched and perfectly cropped fit. I much prefer it cinched and cropped to a boxy, oversized cut!
I actually wore this windbreaker to my first New York Liberty basketball game last week – it felt just the right level of sporty and was so comfortable when styled with jeans and sneakers. But I’m kind of obsessed with the juxtaposition of this traditionally casual, athletic jacket when styled with more feminine, elegant separates. Wearing the windbreaker as a top and pairing it with a flirty skirt like this old La Ligne favorite gives it a unique and fashion forward twist. Really any knee-length or midi skirt would do… a leather pencil style could be a fun pairing as well! To add some texture and break up the solids here, I incorporated a little snakeskin into the mix with these Aeyde slingbacks. Sadly my Zara jacket is sold out, but there are a ton of styles available at every price point you can imagine – I’ll break it all down for you below.
