Savannah Chatham County Public School System (SCCPS) Update:

    Key takeaways
    • New CTAE labs opened at Groves High School, emphasizing workforce readiness for students.
    • Facilities designed for Aviation Maintenance and Logistics pathways to prepare students for high-demand careers.
    • Collaborative effort with local industries like Gulfstream Aerospace and Georgia Ports Authority to enhance education.
    • SCCPSS showcases commitment to technical education and community-driven opportunities.
    • Project executed by LS3P Associates and Samet Corporation as the General Contractor.

Business and community leaders gathered with district and school staff at Groves High School on Thursday, August 21, 2025, to cut a ribbon and officially open the new CTAE labs at the Davis-Edwards-Harris Educational Complex. Staff were busy installing “Industrial Academy” signage on doors just before the ceremony as the newly completed labs inside mark a major milestone in workforce readiness for our school district.

Purpose-built to support the Aviation Maintenance and Logistics pathways, the building features industry-aligned labs and training spaces that prepare students for high-demand careers at local businesses like Gulfstream Aerospace and the Georgia Ports Authority. Representatives from those local industries, as well as the district’s educational partner Savannah Technical College were in attendance to see the results of their partnership and investment in Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools.

This expansion reflects SCCPSS’s commitment to technical education and community-driven opportunity. The project was designed by LS3P Associates and Samet Corporation was the General Contractor.
