The City of Pooler is proud to reveal the completion of the Pipemaker’s Canal Widening Task, a considerable framework improvement made possible via funding from Unique Function Regional Choice Sales Tax Obligation (SPLOST). This growth stands for a significant investment in the city’s long-lasting facilities resilience.

The Pipemaker’s Canal functions as the key water drainage point for around 5, 600 acres west of I- 95 Building and construction on this phase of the project began in 2024, broadening the canal by 40 feet. This enhanced size is projected to improve water flow by more than 60 percent for higher capability to communicate stormwater throughout bigger rainfall events and a decrease in peak flooding along the hallway.

The 1 6 million dollar job reflects the City of Pooler’s critical investment in water drainage facilities and with 97 percent of the financing supplied by SPLOST, the project is a significant fiscal win for residents

Mayor Karen L. Williams celebrated the job’s conclusion, noting its importance to Pooler’s future.
“This task reflects our city’s ongoing dedication to buying lasting framework that supports both current locals and future advancement. With the responsible use of SPLOST funds, we have enhanced Pipemaker’s Canal to boost stormwater administration, lower flooding threats, and guarantee our city continues to thrive as we expand,” Mayor Williams said.

She proceeded, “The City of Pooler prolongs its thankfulness to regional professionals, designers, and city personnel whose hard work and devotion brought this task to conclusion. This ribbon reducing marks not only the success of a crucial infrastructure project but also the proceeded partnership between the City of Pooler and its residents via SPLOST financing.”

Mayor Pro Tem Aaron C. Henry highlighted the project’s effect on long-lasting planning.
