    Black Athletes in the Spotlight: HBCU Sports & Local Highlights

    Savannah, Georgia-The Tigers start off the final month of the calendar year with basketball in full swing. The first two home doubleheaders of the season await the men’s & women’s basketball teams this week. We’ll cover everything in this latest installment of “This Week In Tiger Athletics”.

    Women’s Basketball
    After three straight road contests to start the SIAC portion of their schedule, the Lady Tiger women’s basketball team finally returns home for two conference matchups. Savannah State will welcome the Marauders of Central State on Thursday, December 4th at 5:30pm, the on Saturday, December 6th, the Kentucky State Thorobreds come to town for a 2:00pm tip-off inside Tiger Arena.

    Men’s Basketball
    The Savannah State men’s basketball team started their season on the road for their first four contests of the season. The Orange & Blue make their Tiger Arena debut on Thursday, December 4th against Central State at 7:30pm. Prior to the start of that contest, the 2025 SIAC Men’s Basketball championship banner will be raised. The Tigers continue their homestand on Saturday, December 6th, where they will welcome Kentucky State to Tiger Arena for a 4:00pm tip-off
