    Savannah, Georgia-The 2025 regular season ends for the women’s volleyball squad, while the 2025-26 season begins for the men’s & women’s basketball teams. We’ll cover everything as always in our latest installment of “This Week In Tiger Athletics”.

    Women’s Volleyball

    The SSU women’s volleyball squad looks to end their regular season on a positive note with two contests this week. On Tuesday, November 11th, the Lady Tigers head to Fort Valley, Georgia for a matchup against SIAC East Division leading Fort Valley State at 6pm. The regular season officially comes to an end on Thursday, November 13th against Albany State inside Tiger Arena also at 6pm. Prior to the start of that contest, Savannah State will honor their three seniors (Saniaa Dickey, Aaliyah Saunders, and Savannah Everett).

    Women’s Basketball

    The 2025-26 season for the Savannah State women’s basketball squad gets started this week. New head coach, Savannah native, and Savannah State graduate Phillip Wallace, Jr. returns home to lead the squad. An exhibition matchup will kick things off for the Lady Tigers this Saturday, November 15th as they will host the Sabers of Barber-Scotia College. Tip-off is set for 1:00pm inside Tiger Arena

    Men’s Basketball

    The Savannah State men’s basketball team opens its 2025-26 season in defense of their Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The new look Tigers will open their season this week in Florida with two games against squads from the Sunshine State Conference. Head Coach Clevan Thompson and the Tigers will open the season on Friday, November 14th against the Lions of Saint Leo at 7:00pm, then on Saturday, November 15th the Tigers head to Lakeland to battle Florida Southern at 3:30pm.
