2/25/2026 – The Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Cutter as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Cutter has served as CAT’s Interim Chief Executive Officer since June 2024, providing leadership and continuing key initiatives focused on service reliability, workforce development, and community engagement.
“I believe Ms. Cutter’s appointment is a step in the right direction,” said Detric Leggett, Chair of the CAT Board of Directors. “We look forward to meaningful results for our community during this transitional period.”
As CEO, Cutter will oversee all operational, financial, and strategic functions of the Authority, continuing efforts to enhance customer experience, modernizing the fleet, expanding mobility options, and strengthening partnerships across Chatham County.
