Officials with the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor announced Tuesday that the organization had recently received $150,000 in funding from the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund. The money will be used to support the organization’s hiring of a preservation director for a two-year term. “The Director will be instrumental in creating the infrastructure needed to preserve The Corridor’s cultural heritage and lands,” according to the announcement.
