ATLANTA, Ga.-The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) office announced their SIAC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Award winners on Tuesday Morning. For the second time this season Savannah State sophomore pitcher Austin McCormack has earned this week’s SIAC Pitcher of the Week Award.
McCormack, a native of Land O’Lakes, Florida, led Savannah State to a 20-4 road win over Lane in their series opening contest on April 24th, tossing a seven-inning complete game with eight strikeouts while allowing four hits and two earned runs. In the process of that contest, McCormack eclipsed the 100 Career Strikeouts mark for his young career. The left-hander controlled the game throughout and improved to and impressive 7-2 record on the season.
