Benjamin Anthony Brooks Obituary

“Have not I commanded thee: Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” – Joshua 1:9

Key takeaways
  • Born March 25, 1956, in the family of Benjamin and Martha Brooks.
  • Affectionately known to family and friends as “Pap” and “Slim”.
  • Married his beloved wife Denise Wilson; they moved to New York and built life together.
  • Valued love, time, and kindness above material things throughout his life.
  • Died November 24, 2025; survived by children, grandchildren, siblings, relatives, and many friends.

Throughout life, a person will travel many different paths. These paths are designed to teach us lessons and to bring us closer to God. Over the years, I have journeyed over many paths, and I was blessed to realize that God was guiding and protecting me before it was too late, so eventually, I gave my life to God. My life was beautiful for as long as it lasted, but this journey of my life has come to an end. Please find comfort in knowing that I have no regrets whatsoever because I had a fun and adventurous life. I don’t have to worry about the troubles of this world anymore. I have gone on to be with those loved ones who have gone before me.

On March 25, 1956, an adventurous baby boy who they named Benjamin Anthony Brooks was added to the family of the late Benjamin and Martha Brooks. He received his formal education in the public school system of Hampton School District #2 in Estill, South Carolina. He was affectionately known as “Pap” and “Slim” to his family members and friends.

The Bible says, “When a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing.” When Benjamin A. Brooks found the love of his life, Denise Wilson, he found the best thing that had ever happened to him. After their union, they did as the Bible instructed them to do, “A man shall leave his family and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one.” Through their union, they moved to New York and started their new life together, living happily until Denise’s death.

When our time on earth is over, money and material things won’t matter. All that mattered to Benjamin A. Brooks was the love, time, and kindness he showed to others while he lived. He departed this life on November 24, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Wilson Brooks; father, Benjamin Brooks; and mother, Martha Brooks.

During his sixty-nine years of earthly living, Benjamin was blessed to share his bountiful love with numerous individuals. He was grateful for the role each of these individuals played in his life, so he leaves behind to remember the beautiful memories they shared: his children and their significant others; several grandchildren; siblings and their significant others; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
