Mr. Joseph Wadley, Sr.
“Sunny”
March 29, 1949 – July 17, 2025
God saw you were getting weary, so he did what he thought was best, he came and stood beside you and whispered come to rest. You bid no one a last farewell not even a good-bye, you were gone before we knew it and only God knows why.
Mr. Joseph (Sunny) Wadley, Sr., 76, was born March 29, 1949, to the late Mr. U. A. and Mrs. Mary Moore Wadley in Sylvania, Screven County, Georgia.
He attended the Screven County Public School System. He worked for the Cargill Company for many years and then for the Metter Housing Authority where he retired.
He was united in Holy Matrimony with the former Ms. Eyvonne Young and to this beloved union, three children were born.
On Thursday evening, July 17, 2025, God saw fit to call another soldier, Mr. Joseph Wadley, Sr., to his eternal rest at East Georgia Regional Medical Centers of Statesboro, GA.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was also preceded in death by his siblings, John Willie Wadley, M.C. Wadley, Jessie Lee Drayton and Clarence Wadley.
“Sunny”, as he was affectionately known, loved fishing and his family. His memory will forever live in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife: Mrs. Eyvonne Young Wadley; his three children: Joseph (Tameka) Wadley, Jr., Kizzie Wadley, and Jenny (Michael) Anthony all of Sylvania, GA; his four sisters: Rosa (John) Bedford, Loretta Cosby and Carolyn Collins all of Sylvania, GA and Delsey (Leslie) Wadley-Newman of Temple Hills, Maryland; his brother: Jake (Telma) Wadley of Sylvania, GA; two sisters-in-law: Patricia Young of Statesboro, GA and Reatter Oliver of Augusta, GA; a brother-in-law: Willie Young of Sylvania, GA; eight grandchildren: Bennie Patterson, III, Terrec Wadley of Statesboro, GA, Tyreese Wadley, Travon Clark, Jaylin Cooper, Skylin Cooper, Teairra Wadley and Shyann Cooper all of Sylvania, GA; a great grandchild: Trea Knight; a special fishing cousin: Jessie Hagins; best friends: Weldon Robbins and Charles Tanksley both of Sylvania, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
