Brandy revealed that the idea for the song came after watching an episode of Jerry Springer, which sparked the concept of two women confronting each other over the same man. She reached out to Monicaโwhom she greatly admiredโto collaborate on the track. Monica initially thought fans might believe the two were actually feuding, but the song went on to become a massive success, spending 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 and earning the pair a Grammy.
The singers also reflected on the profound influence of Whitney Houston, sharing memories of working with the legendary star.
