Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration

    Key takeaways
    • Frosted Lips: metallic, pearlescent pastels paired with dark liner and high-shine gloss for that icy Y2K pout.
    • Gladiator Heels: retro Roman-style strappy heels channel early 2000s pop star energy, super nostalgic and bold.
    • Choker Necklaces: rhinestone chokers to fake-tattoo styles are the ultimate early-2000s accessory for that IT GIRL vibe.
    • Thin Brows: ultra-thin, high-arched Y2K brows modernized with micro-pencils and concealer, glam without extreme plucking.

This music duo is putting style and cosmetics straight up in a Time Machine. And Honey, they look FABULOUS. Doja Cat and Latto are channeling Y2K fashion and beauty trends in their new Okayyy music video. Let’s discuss.

Latto and Doja Cat have released this music video on the heels of the news that soon they will be hitting the road together. Doja Cat first announced, and Latto then confirmed that they will tour together for the U.S. leg of the Tour Ma Vie World Tour. Latto will perform as the opener when the tour officially begins in the United States in Detroit in October.

Nevertheless, while music fans wait on this portion of Doja Cat’s world tour to commence. Fashion divas can enjoy some vintage style trends!

One being (our personal fave) rhinestone sunglasses. Oversized and incredibly glam. These dazzling sunnies were often designed with gradient lenses in varying pastel colors. Moreover, shades such as these were frequently spotted on the biggest pop culture icons of the era. From Aaliyah to Beyonce.

Want to look like a Y2K actress or pop star? Well, here’s 4 more trends that WERE HUGE. And spied on Latto and Doja Cat.

Frosted Lips: The ultimate Y2K frosted lip is all about metallic, shimmery pastels and icy pinks. Recreate this frosty, metallic throwback look by pairing a dark tone lip liner with a high-shine, pearlescent lipstick or metallic lip gloss.

Gladiator Heels: Think retro Britney Spears, Beyoncé and Pink Pepsi commercial. Back in the day Roman aesthetic shoes were everywhere and everything.

Choker Necklaces: That’s HOT. If you want to look like an early 2000’s IT GIRL this is the jewelry of choice. From rhinestone designs to fake tattoos, this accessory will have you channeling Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera and Mean Girls Lindsay Lohan in no time.

Doja Cat and Latto Channel Y2K Fashion and Beauty Trends—Continued

Okay Beauties, here’s one last trend. While thicker, super defined brows may be more of thing now. Latto and Doja Cat prove that Y2K eyebrows are still super GLAM.

Thin Brows: Back in the 2000’s like diamonds, tweezers were a girl’s best friend. Music Icons like Gwen Stefani and Fergie sported heavily plucked brows. However, today the look is modernized so you don’t have to pull out your eyebrow hairs like there’s no tomorrow.

Instead of plucking opt for soft-shaping. Y2K eyebrows today is all about the ultra-thin, high-arched 2000s look. Modern trends, like those popularized by celebs like Jennie from Blackpink and Gabbriette, avoid permanent over-plucking. Instead, you can use high-coverage concealer and micro-pencils to fake the thin, airy aesthetic without touching your tweezers.
