Mr. Laricus Major

May 5, 1979 – July 3, 2025

God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, so he gently closed those beautiful eyes and whispered, “Peace be Thine.”

Mr. Laricus (Rick) Major transitioned from this life, Thursday, July 3, 2025 at is residence surrounded by family.  He was born on May 5, 1979 to the late Alvin Stewart and Betty Robbins in Augusta, GA.  He was raised by his great-grand parents, Robbie Lee Walker and Purcell Roberts.

At a young age Laricus was baptized at Lewis Chapel CME Church.  He attended Screven County Public School System.  His first job was at Churches Chicken and later in life he became an ambitious entrepreneur.  Laricus’ fascination of cars led him to becoming part owner of Smile Detailing.  He was known by many as Smiley; he could be holding the weight of the world on his shoulder, yet he would still smile as he faced life’s challenges with grace and humility.  He also enjoyed cooking for family and friends, cheering on his favorite sports team, and listening to rap music while rapping.  But most of all, he enjoyed family.

Laricus was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Stewart; paternal grandparents, Robert Lee “Bubba Red” Stewart and Lizzie Mae “Hepsey” Stewart, maternal grandfathers, Louis Major, Sr. and Alvin Wesley; great-grandparents, Purcell Roberts and Robbie Lee Walker and a nephew, Ahmad Elijah Arnett.

His loving memories will be cherished by his soulmate, Seangrie (Chump) Williams of Sylvania, GA; his loving mother and stepfather, Betty (Michael) Robbins of Statesboro, GA; four caring sisters, Shadtell Etheridge, Menyon Major, TaNissha Major and Miekka Robbins; one brother, Chris Stewart; grandmothers, Barbara Wesley of Statesboro, GA and Joyce Major of Sylvania, GA; aunts, Marie McClay of Estill, SC, Jacquelyn (Rozell) Lawrence of Portal, GA, Carolyn (Melvin) Gordon of Chesapeake, VA, Virginia (Eric) Golden of Sylvania, GA, Carlene (Kevin) Hunter of Guyton, GA, Patricia (Vincent) Taylor of Locust Grove, GA, Monica Reason and Sharelle Taylor (Dimitri) of Sylvania, GA;  uncles, Charles Stewart of St. Petersburg, FL, Wesley (Bobbie Jean) Stewart of Girard, GA, Robert (Norma) Stewart of Sylvania, GA, Louis Major, Jr. (Juanita) of Statesboro, GA, Rodriquez Major, Carlos Major and Jamon Major of Sylvania, GA; a great aunt, Annie Louise Bowen of Colorado Springs, CO; also a host of other relatives and friends
