Mr. Saul Alvin transitioned on August 22, 2025 at  Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah Georgia.  The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, 12 noon at  Greater Works Ministries, 4020 Wylly Avenue, Brunswick Georgia.  Viewing for Saul will be limited to one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The interment will immediately follow the service  in Greenwood Cemetery 3301 Newcastle St, Brunswick Ga. Although not required, mask wearing is strongly encouraged. (www.brunswickfh.com)

Saul (Buster) was born on January 12, 1942, in Brunswick, Georgia to Mr. Saul A. Alvin, Sr. and Mrs. Clara Monroe Alvin. He attended school in Glynn County and after High School he enlisted in the United States Army in which he served from 1966-1968 and received the National Service Defense Medal and Marksman Badge.

He joined St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as His Savior. 

Buster retired from the Glynn County Public Works Department as a Supervisor II after working from 1984-1996. After retiring from Glynn County Public Works Department, he became a CDL driver for MCO Transportation and RL Jones & Sons.

Buster was a kind and gentle man who was always willing to help others. He enjoyed old cars and was a Ford man. He enjoyed sports, watching old television shows, the News, skating and having good conversations with family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Saul A. Alvin, Sr. and Mrs. Clara Monroe Alvin, a daughter, Ursula Alvin, a granddaughter, Courtney Carmena, his sister, Alma E. McFaye, and brothers, James Alvin, Leroy Alvin, Michael Alvin, and Franklin Alvin.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Sabrina Slay Alvin, sons, Saul A. Alvin, III (Trey) and Jimmy Cowart (Pug). Daughters, Sharon (Forrest) Henderson, Teresa Dyar, Chrystal Clarke, Betty Alvin and Terehaun (Gregory) Alvin Darrisaw. Brothers, Alfonso (Barbara) Alvin and Albert (Maebell) Monroe. 

Brothers-in-law, Fredrick Floyd, Darryl Floyd, Korey Floyd, and Gregory (Shawn) SlaySisters-in-law, Barbara Floyd (Mike), Phyllis Slay, Sylvia Alvin

Special cousins who were like sisters, Venus Fuller and Deloris Campbell. 

Special sister-in-law Angela (Craig) Hobbs.

13 grandchildren 

11 great-grands

Special nieces, Heather, Lakeiah, Jasmine, Gabrielle, Brittany, Lauren, and Olive (who he called “Lil Momma”)Special nephews, Mickey, Mario, Marlon, Mark, Derrick, Albert Jr, David, and Jermaine. A host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
