Savannah State University’s 2025 Homecoming celebrations kicked off with an amazing pep rally on October 22, 2025, inside Tiger Arena. Doors opened at 7 p.m., and by the official start at 8, the venue was packed with students, alumni and community members eager to celebrate Tiger pride.

The night featured excellent performances from artists Bunna B and Waka Flocka Flame, who brought the crowd to its feet with their popular hits and entertaining stage presence. But before the music even began, the evening offered new interactive elements that helped build anticipation and engagement.

Je’Carla “Carlie” Davis, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) Spirits and Traditions Committee Chair, played a key role in organizing the event. The pep rally included performances from the student orientation leaders (SOL) and the Elite Army Dance Troupe and engaged attendants with crowd participation games.

“I felt like it was a good 10 out of 10 this year, from the artists to the vibes of all the classes,” Davis said. “We tried some new things, like playing games before any of the acts came out, which really built up the excitement for the night.”

The crowd’s energy reflected the hard work CAB put into the pep rally. Each class showed off its school pride through chants and a game of musical chairs. The blend of the traditional pep rally that happens at every homecoming and fresh ideas gave the event a renewed sense of community, one that perfectly captured the spirit of Savannah State’s Homecoming week.

“I had a great time,” said Aria Fleming, a junior at Savannah State University. “The pep rally is always one of my favorite events that CAB puts together, and it didn’t disappoint. Once again, I got my money’s worth for sure.”

As the night came to a close, the energy in Tiger Arena proved that Savannah State University’s Homecoming spirit is stronger than ever. From the live performances to the crowd’s enthusiasm, the pep rally once again reminded everyone why it remains one of the most anticipated homecoming events on campus. With a perfect mix of entertainment, pride, and community, CAB set the tone for a Homecoming week to remember.
