The MELT Golf Classic hosted by Steve Harvey has become one of the most notable celebrity golf events on the global social calendar, blending sport, entertainment and high-profile networking against the elegant backdrop of Abu Dhabi. Held in early December in 2025, the exclusive, invitation only annual event and tournament returned to the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where elite players, business leaders and international stars gathered during the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend for competition and celebration. The event was part of the MELT Middle East series of experiences, a venture co-chaired by Steve Harvey that aims to bridge cultures through golf, luxury events and lifestyle programming.

NBA legend Hall of Famer Julius “DrJ” Erving won first place as the celebrity captain of his team.

The experience included a Paddle Ball Tournament, the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit, a visit to the Louvre Abu Dhabi located in the Saadiyat Cultural District on Saadiyat Island, the MELT Golf Classic 2025 gala dinner, visit to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, and a desert excursion featuring camel rides, ATV adventures, and delicious local cuisine. Special thanks for a fantastic program include Steve Harvey, the MELT Middle East team, Visit Abu Dhabi, and Sharon Page of Synergy Communications for making the experience unforgettable, along with Elvira, Melissa, Melsa, Mehra, Carlo, Maria Jordan, and the entire team whose efforts made it all possible.

The roots of the MELT Golf Classic trace back to earlier editions held in Abu Dhabi. In 2023, the Steve Harvey Golf Classic took place at Al Saadiyat Golf Club, coinciding with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and drew celebrities such as Terrence J, Nene Leakes, Cynthia Bailey and Canelo Alvarez, with luxury concierge services and curated leisure experiences that showcased the city’s hospitality and cultural offerings.  In previous years, including the 2022 edition, the event was hosted at Yas Acres and Saadiyat Golf Clubs, featuring a mix of friendly competition and social events, such as gala dinners at iconic venues like the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Steve Harvey, the comedian, television host and entrepreneur behind the MELT brand, has spoken about his vision of expanding global cultural exchanges through events like the golf classic, highlighting how the UAE provides fertile ground for bridging diverse perspectives and celebrating shared experiences.  The tournament blends competitive golf with social interaction, offering guests the chance to play alongside legends and stars, engage in networking opportunities and enjoy curated VIP experiences.

In 2025, the MELT Golf Classic continued to attract an eclectic mix of attendees, from sports legends like Sugar Ray Leonard to internationally recognized entertainers, all competing and socializing in a festive atmosphere set against the lush fairways and ocean views of Saadiyat Beach Golf Club.

The tournament weekend typically includes a welcome reception, on-course play, and gala events that celebrate the sport and support future editions. For those seeking more information about upcoming MELT Golf Classic events, visitors can explore the official MELT Middle East website or contact the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi for event schedules and guest details. The 2025 edition reaffirmed the Classic’s reputation as a premier lifestyle and sporting experience that marries luxury, golf and global culture.
