SSU is set to play eight matches inside Tiger Arena which includes the inaugural Karissa Tatum Tri-Match.

In addition to the Karissa Tatum Tri-Match, Savannah State will also participate in the Fort Valley State Tournament and a pair of Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossovers with one in Albany, Georgia and the other in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Lady Tigers will play their annual Orange and Blue scrimmage on August 28 and will open the regular season on the road at Brewton-Parker on September 1.

A trip to middle Georgia looms on Sept. 4-5 to participate in the FVSU Tournament.

SSU will play Bowie State on Sept. 4 and will have matches with Wiley and Bluefield State on Sept. 5.

Savannah State will play their first regular season match of the season on Sept. 11 in the Karissa Tatum Tri-Match.

Livingstone will play Brewton-Parker in the first match and SSU will play Livingstone in the second match and Brewton-Parker in the third match.

The tournament is named after former SSU volleyball player Karissa Tatum who died on September 4, 2019 from injuries she got in a car accident while she was evacuating campus for Hurricane Dorian on Sept. 1.

Tatum, who earned her Associate of Arts degree, wanted to be a journalist and was a 21-year old junior mass communications student when she passed away.

In May 2020, SSU awarded Tatutm’s parents with her undergraduate degree.

Following her death, Savannah State started a Karissa Tatum Scholarship for mass communications students, in her honor.

After a trip to St. Augustine, Florida to play Flagler on Sept. 15, Savannah State will play in the SIAC East Crossover in Albany, Georgia on Sept. 18-19.

SSU will play Kentucky State and Central State on Sept. 18 and Spring Hill and Miles on Sept. 19.

Road games at Edward Waters (Sept. 22) and Clark Atlanta (Sept. 24) will close out the month of September before Savannah State opens October with a trip to Memphis, Tennessee to play in the SIAC Crossover II on Oct. 2-3.

The Lady Tigers will face Lane and LeMoyne-Owen on Oct. 2 and Tuskegee on Oct. 3.

Savannah State will play six of the final ten matches of the regular season at home.

Following a road contest at Benedict on Oct. 8, SSU will host back-to-back matches against Allen (Oct. 9) and Albany State (Oct. 13) before hitting the road to play at Fort Valley State on Oct. 15.

Edward Waters will visit the Lady Tigers on Oct. 20 and Clark Atlanta will be at Tiger Arena the following day on Oct. 21.

Savannah State will travel to Allen on Oct. 29 before hosting Benedict on Oct. 27.

The Lady Tigers will visit Albany State on November 3 and will play their home and regular season finale on Nov. 5 against Fort Valley State.

The 2026 SIAC Volleyball Championships will be held Nov. 11-13 in Fort Valley, Georgia.

After setting a new single-season record for wins and earning a trip to the semifinals of the SIAC Tournament in 2025, Savannah State is hoping for bigger and better things next year
