Global Black Voices: News from around the World

Key takeaways
  • Four key players—Rushwin Dortley, Aiden McCarthy, Fiacre Ntwari, and Glodly Lelepo—are ruled out of the Zamalek clash due to injury.
  • Khanyisa Mayo returns from injury and is available after missing the last three games.
  • The match at Peter Mokaba Stadium kicks off at 15:00 and a Chiefs victory would move them into second in Group D.

Kaizer Chiefs return to action this afternoon when they host Egyptian giants Zamalek FC.

The Glamour Boys opted to take their opening home CAF Confederation Cup group stage match to the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Three points are a must for the Glamour Boys, who’ll know very well that making use of home-ground advantage is key.

Kaizer Chiefs opened their campaign with a bitter 2-1 loss away in Egypt against Al Masry last weekend.

Four Kaizer Chiefs players to miss Zamalek clash

Coach Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef will be without four key players this afternoon.

Kaizer Chiefs defenders Rushwin Dortley and Aiden McCarthy will miss the clash due to injury.

Furthermore, goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari remains side-lined by injury. Glodly Lelepo also misses out once again due to injury as well.

The good news however is that Khanyisa Mayo is back in action. The talented striker missed his side’s last three games through injury.

All eyes on Polokwane

Action at the Peter Mokaba Stadium is scheduled to get underway at 15:00. The match will be televised live across South Africa.

A victory for Kaizer Chiefs will see them leapfrog Zamalek into second position in group D.

Today’s match is the last Amakhosi continental match of the year. The Glamour Boys will next play their third group-stage match in January 2026.
