Savannah, Georgia-Just the Savannah State men’s basketball team are the only team in action this week to ring in 2026. We will cover the action in our brief installment of “This Week In Tiger Athletics”.

Men’s Basketball

The Savannah State men’s basketball team has been on a bit of a roll. The Tigers are winners of their last three consecutive contests, and five out of their last six outings. The Orange & Blue will open the 2026 calendar year on the road to Atlanta as they will battle a new look Morehouse Maroon Tigers ball club in an SIAC East Division matchup. Tip-off is set for Saturday, January 3rd at 3:00pm at Forbes Arena at McAfee Court. For those who are planning on attending the contest, Morehouse has announced that the contest will be free of charge for entry. The Maroon Tiger Sports Network and the SIAC Network will carry all of the live play-by-play of the contest.
