Real Estate News & Market Insights:

    Key takeaways
    • Taylor Frankie Paul paid $1,000,160 for a seven-bedroom, 4,100-square-foot home in an upscale Salt Lake City suburb.
    • A court denied former husband Tate Paul's temporary restraining order, citing lack of immediate irreparable harm and hearsay concerns.
    • The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office declined to file criminal charges after investigating domestic violence allegations.
    • Paul is mother to three: daughter Indy, 8; son Ocean, 5; son Ever, 2.

“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Taylor Frankie Paul has checked herself into rehab amid her ongoing legal battles involving her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, and ex-husband, Tate Paul.

Paul, 32, who has endured a tumultuous few months that have seen her face a string of domestic violence allegations and personal turmoil, voluntarily entered the treatment facility just weeks after purchasing a $1 million home in Utah—a move she had hoped would mark a fresh start.

A source close to the former TV personality told People she “checked into a facility upon the recommendation of her doctor.”

The insider emphasized that Paul had made the decision “voluntarily,” adding, “she’s committed to getting better.”

Another source told the outlet, “The people around Taylor want her to get help,” adding that everyone around her “want to see her get better.

They added, “Everyone is trying to protect the kids.

Paul shares daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, whom she shares with Tate, and son Ever, 2, whose father is Mortensen.

TMZ reports that Paul’s stay in the rehabilitation facility has already come to an end, noting that she left after undergoing one week of treatment, although it’s unclear what issues that care was focused on.

The news comes after it was revealed Tate’s attempt for a restraining order against Paul was denied.

“As Tate himself recognizes, many of his supporting allegations are based upon inadmissible hearsay, without any corroborating evidence,” court documents obtained by Us Weekly revealed.

Many of the concerns, like the children not doing well in school and expressing sadness will require ongoing attention not remedied with an emergency order changing custody.

The court acknowledges that what he is allegedly hearing can create anxiety, but contrary to the claim that the children are in immediate danger, Taylor proffers that Tate left the children with her from June 11 through the 17, 2026, while he went to Iceland.

The court cannot find an immediate and irreparable harm as contemplated by Rule 65A, and the motion is denied.

It was revealed on June 30 that Tate, 32, had filed a temporary restraining order against his former spouse in her home state Utah and had requested a hearing.

It came after Paul splashed out an impressive $1 million on her new Utah home—snapping up a “spacious” seven-bedroom dwelling in one of Salt Lake City‘s most sought-after suburbs.

Paul revealed in an emotional Instagram post shared in May that she had closed on her first property as a “solo homeowner,” while praising her mother, real estate agent Liann May, for helping her find the dwelling where she will start her next chapter.

Property records revealed that the home in question is a stunning and very “spacious” dwelling located in an upscale Salt Lake City suburb; the property was originally listed for $979,000, however records show that Paul paid above ask, with the final sale price listed in the deed as $1,000,160.

The 4,100-square-foot home, which was built in 2006, offers more than enough space for Paul and her three children.

It boasts seven bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and has a wealth of living space, including a large open-plan kitchen and living area, complete with its own fireplace, as well as a finished basement that features its own separate entrance and was described in the listing as being an ideal spot for guest accommodation or an in-law suite.

Outside, there are plenty of amenities that will no doubt be used by Paul and her kids, including a basketball court, a hot tub, and a covered patio that would be ideal for hosting outdoor dinners.

But while Paul may well be delighted with her new spread, she has previously admitted that leaving her former Utah property has not been easy.

The TV personality admitted in a candid post shared on her social media accounts that the transition has been emotionally overwhelming because of the attachment she formed to her previous dwelling and the experiences tied to it.

In the post, Paul shared an image of herself crying, as well as a moving van.

She also shared snaps of her children in her old Utah home.

Paul also hinted at the bittersweet experience when she announced that she had closed on the property, while sharing a video of herself signing the closing documents for her new abode, along with pictures that showed her posing with a giant key.

“Officially a solo home owner and thank you to the best real estate agent in Utah, Liann May,” she wrote in the caption. I see the sadness through the excitement but I am trying.

It marks the first time that the mother of three has owned her own abode, having previously revealed that she has spent much of her adult life renting.

Paul previously teased her homeowner era during an Instagram Story on May 6, where she revealed, “I just bought my first house on my own. [I had] been renting for years.”

The home purchase came after a difficult year for the Hulu personality, whose highly publicized relationship with Mortensen played out both online and on-screen during recent seasons of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

The reality star has since been open about wanting a “fresh start,” previously sharing emotional videos of herself packing up her former home while navigating the breakup and co-parenting challenges.

It came just weeks after prosecutors revealed that they would not file charges against Paul following an investigation into domestic violence allegations made about her and Mortensen, 33.

The former couple were locked in a bitter legal battle for weeks, after it emerged in March that the pair had been involved in a domestic violence incident the previous month—news that prompted ABC to yank Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” from the air just hours before it was due to premiere.

In April, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office declined to press criminal charges.

Just days before learning she wouldn’t be criminally charged, Paul announced that she was cutting ties with the Mormon church.
