From Hollywood to Home: Black Voices in Entertainment

    Key takeaways
    • Tyler Perry to receive the Innovator Award, recognized for studios, ownership and empowering Black creatives.
    • Meagan Good honored with the Spirit Award, marking a milestone as actor and producer influential in representation and inspiration.
    • Tiffany Haddish returns as host, bringing her Emmy, GRAMMY and NAACP Image Award-winning energy and viral moments to the ceremony.
    • Kehlani, Kirk Franklin and RZA among honorees; event streams on the Zeus Network and benefits the Hollywood Cares Foundation.

The 2026 Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards is placing a major spotlight on two powerhouse performers whose careers have helped shape modern entertainment. Those artist are none other than Tyler Perry and Meagan Good.

Set for June 5th at the iconic Beverly Hilton, this year’s ceremony will honor Perry with the Innovator Award while celebrating Good with the Spirit Award, recognizing two creatives whose impact on Black storytelling and representation continues to resonate across generations.

Previously announced as the recipient of the coveted Innovator Award, Tyler Perry’s inclusion instantly elevated this year’s event into must-watch territory. Over the last two decades, Perry has transformed the entertainment landscape through his groundbreaking work as a filmmaker, producer, studio owner and entrepreneur. From building one of the largest production studios in the country to creating opportunities for Black creatives in front of and behind the camera, Perry’s influence continues to redefine what ownership and longevity look like in Hollywood.

Meanwhile, Meagan Good’s upcoming Spirit Award honor represents a full-circle moment for the actress and longtime supporter of the ceremony. During the 2025 Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, Good presented Keke Palmer with the Spirit Award. Now, one year later, she will return to the stage as an honoree herself.

The recognition arrives during another major chapter in Good’s career as she continues balancing acting, producing and cultural influence while remaining one of Hollywood’s most consistent and respected talents. Her honor further solidifies the ceremony’s focus on celebrating figures whose impact extends beyond entertainment and into inspiration and representation.

Adding even more excitement to the evening is the return of Tiffany Haddish as host. The Emmy, GRAMMY and NAACP Image Award-winning entertainer previously brought humor, unpredictability and viral moments to the ceremony, making her return one of the event’s biggest crowd-pleasing announcements.

Hollywood Unlocked also confirmed additional 2026 honorees including Kehlani receiving the Fearlessness Award, Kirk Franklin receiving the Inspiration Award, and RZA receiving the Culture Award.

Founded by Jason Lee, the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards was created to celebrate individuals who continue pushing culture forward through entertainment, activism, business and community impact. Jason Lee and Rob Smith serve as executive producers of the annual event.

The ceremony will stream on Zeus Network. Hollywood Unlocked has not yet announced musical performances or presenters participating in the evening of events.

Returning as musical director for the evening is 13-time GRAMMY Award-winning icon Babyface.

This year’s event will also benefit the Hollywood Cares Foundation, which focuses on uplifting underserved Black and Brown youth through leadership, civic engagement and mentorship initiatives.

Past Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards honorees have included Cardi B, Whoopi Goldberg, Niecy Nash, Don Lemon, Lizzo, Sharon Stone, Law Roach, Jenifer Lewis, Chloe Bailey and Christian Louboutin.

Tickets and sponsored tables for the 2026 Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards are available now, with proceeds supporting the Hollywood Cares Foundation.
