Who Introduced Harry Styles on SNL?

The cameo-er has become the cameo-ee. Last week, Ryan Gosling’s monologue was crashed by Harry Styles. At the time, Styles said he was just there to “get a feel” for the space. But we all know it was just to throw Gosling off his game. That way, Styles could assure that he’d top “Saturday Night Live season 51 hosts, ranked” listicles. Which we all know he cares about deeply. Oh ho, but what’s this? Gosling introduing musical guest Harry Styles? Is it possible the enmity we perceived during Gosling’s monologue was …fake? No, it can’t be. This was retaliation, plain and simple. Clearly Lorne Michaels felt so bad about Gosling trying to big dog Styles that he got bestie Paul Simon to intro Styles for his second musical performance of the evening. It’s this kind of stand-up guy stuff we can all expect from the Lorne doc.
