Residents Invited to Share Personal Memories, Stories During Community Project Drop-Ins
SAVANNAH – The City of Svannah Municipal Archives Department invites you to share your Savannah memories during its first Memory Collection Drop-In Day of 2026. The open call event is part of the ongoing Savannah Community Memory Project encouraging participants to share YOUR Savannah story.
Memory Collection Drop-In Day happens Friday, May 8, 10:00am to 4:00pm, in the Archives & History room at City Hall. Bring favorite community memory keepsakes such as photographs, postcards, building plans, scrapbooks, or newsletters to be scanned. Residents may also share memories on camera or sit for a traditional oral history interview.
Special items of interest are community events, leaders, landmarks, neighborhoods, and food traditions in Savannah. If unable to attend in-person, please visit the Share Your Story portal at www.Savannahga.gov/YourHistory. Remaining drop-in dates and times are July 8, 10:00am – 4:00pm; October 8, 9:00am – 2:00pm; and December 8, 10:00am – 4:00pm.
